| History
and the secular past have always represented for all humanity a
challenge and at the same time a mystery for the present. A provocation
for those wanting to dominate the future with their masterpieces
and a mystery for those wanting to discover the profound secrets
of art. Both can be dominated by the past, even while they are convinced
that the present is theirs.
I confess to being dominated
by the beauty of the past, even if I am always trying to convert
it into the present.
What part of this dream of mine
I have been able to accomplish is left to your appreciation after
you view the Orthodox icons of various dimensions.
These are Orthodox icons painted
according to the rules of the famous models which have gone beyond
the boundaries of space and time of certain cultures and which represent
the spiritual riches of the present.
Looking at these Byzantine icons
I would like you to enrich your view with that of the past and to
share a moment of profound spiritual beauty.
